Saturday 30th May we moved on back to Kununurra.
It was only 100km from Wyndham. It sounds like a bit of back tracking but that
was inevitable as we could not proceed on the Gibb River Road past El Questro
as it was to rough for the van. Doing it this way was the least amount of back
tracking because we will be going into the Bungle Bungles which means that if
we did do the GRR with the van all the way we would have to come back the whole
way for the Bungles. We will be here till Friday. We went to the van park
office and booked in a couple of things. We are going to do some great stuff
here. So looking forward to it.
Sunday, went to the Mirima National Park. We had already
bought a 12 month National Park Pass which will pay for itself with all the
parks we will be going to in the next 11 months. These rock formations are very
similar to the Bungle Bungles and has been referred to as the mini Bungle
Bungles. They are quite amazing.
It is good to slow down a bit here and wash the Gibb River
Road dust off the Cruiser and the van. For sunset we went up to Kelly’s Knob
Lookout.
