On Sunday the 26th April it was time to leave the
Flinders so we headed off to Port Augusta. Did a little shopping there and then
went on to a free camp at Lake Hart rest area which is 40km past Woomera. Again
it was a free camp we had checked out earlier but did not stay at because we
needed power at the time due to lousy weather and I had to go to Roxby Downs
for a dentist appointment.
This rest stop overlooks a Salt Lake but when it has been
raining roundabout some water comes in. There was a good deal of water this
time. It was nice but had the sun been out in the morning it would have been
spectacular.
The rest area overlooks the train line as well. So I had to
lay on the tracks to freak Linda out, of course. A short time later a train did
come past.
The line was not electrified in case you are wondering why I
wasn’t electrocuted.
We had a great BBQ dinner there that night and a fire and met some great people, Terry and Robyn, who have been on the road for seven years and still loving it. They come from Seaham near Raymond Terrace, where other friends come from who we met on the road in 2013, Lyn and Wal.
