Our three weeks home had finished. It was a great time with
friends and family. I got a heap of work done to move a shed and creating
another storage area so that I will be able to get the van in on our land in a
really good spot.
On Saturday the 22nd August we flew direct back to Broome and friends, Jude and Greg
picked us up from the airport and took us to Broome Gateway where the Cruiser
and van were. They helped us out further when we found the Cruiser had two flat
batteries. We got it started using Greg’s Cruiser, having to use two sets of
jumper leads from his two batteries to my two batteries. I’ll have to look into
why they went flat in only three weeks.
Drove back into Broome to Tarangau Van Park and set up. Our
friends, John & Margery, who we met and did some travelling with in the NT
two years ago were there. We knew they were as we had been in touch with them.
That night we went to the outdoor and historical Sun Picture Theatre and saw
‘Last Cab to Darwin’, really enjoyed it.
Next day went to Willie Creek Pearl Farm for lunch with John
& Margery. A good time but very ordinary luncheon. That night went with
them to Cable Beach for sunset and dinner.
Next day rotated a couple of tyres on the van. That evening
had a great happy hour with Greg and Jude, John & Margery. John &
Margery left the van park to head south the next day. It was great to catch up
with them and hope to see them on the road before we finish in WA.
We also caught up with other friends we met in the park, Pam
and Colin. Had morning tea with them. But it is a blur as to which day that
was.
Tuesday night we went down to Cable Beach for the final time
this trip and had drinks with Greg and Jude and some of their friends who were
very nice people.
