Monday the 3rd November we left the Big Valley Farm and the Margaret River wine region rather begrudgingly as it is all so nice. We got the tip from Megan at Big Valley that we should take the newly sealed road to Nannup, stay there and do a scenic round drive to Ballinup and Bridgetown and back to Nannup.
So we did that and had a great day. The area is lovely, great scenery and beautiful little towns. It is good to get out into the country rather than the coast for a change.
Nannup has the Blackwood River running through it and the town sprang up as it was used as a place for travellers to rest after fording the river in the old days. There was a timber industry here as well. The bridge was a railway bridge. There are cool photos of water right up to the rail bridge during flooding.
Took a few photos of the scenery on our drive.
