Gibb River Road - Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek

Saturday morning, the 27th June we went to Windjana Gorge. After setting up camp we went the 37km further on to Tunnel Creek. It was a good option to be doing Tunnel Creek during the heat of the day. We were nice and cool in the tunnels. This is an amazing area. The tunnel goes through from one side of the range to the other. The history is interesting as there was an Aborignal called Jandamarra who led an uprising against white settlers in the area. He was shot dead by a black tracker when he was seen coming out of the cave.

Sunday morning we walked into Windjana Gorge. There are a huge number of freshwater crocs in the river there. Not having a swim there.

By this time we were a bit gorged out and ready to swap the tent for the comfort of the caravan.
